Biography
Leslie Edwards is a lifelong Seattle resident who is committed to legal aid and helping people navigate challenging situations with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
During law school, Leslie completed a Health Law Concentration and focused on public interest law. She gained experience helping clients with health care and housing issues through internships with the Northwest Justice Project, where she assisted clients fighting improper insurance denials and discharge from long-term care facilities, and the Washington State Bar Association’s Moderate Means Program, where she helped clients facing housing and family law problems access legal assistance. Leslie also interned with the UCLA Voting Rights project, completed a Hazelton Research Fellowship in procedural election law, and participated in UW’s Regulatory Environmental Law and Policy clinic.
Before attending law school, Leslie spent nearly a decade working in health policy and advocacy in Washington state. This included both working directly with community members struggling to access care as well as legislative and regulatory advocacy to address systemic barriers.
Outside of work, you can find Leslie hiking and playing clarinet with professional orchestras across the greater Seattle area.
